The DIY trade-off
Build workflows.Not infrastructure.
OpenClaw gives you flexibility, hosting control, and deep customization. Syngulr removes deployment, maintenance, security hardening, and orchestration so your team can focus on outcomes instead of infrastructure.
Syngulr
A managed AI workforce on your own dedicated machine.
Your AI co-founder, always on. Atlas plus eight named specialists run inside an isolated container with embedded Postgres on a managed VPS. The Brain, the routines, the audit log already wired up. You delegate in plain English; we handle the building.
OpenClaw
An open-source agent project you clone, configure, and run.
An open-source agent project for technical operators who enjoy self-hosting. You pick the model, write the tools, host the runtime, and own the on-call. Maximum control and maximum ownership of the stack underneath it.
Side-by-side comparison
Eight honest answers, side by side.
The decision is rarely about whether OpenClaw can do something - it's almost who owns the wiring, the patching, and the pager when it breaks.
01
MEMORY
Syngulr
Persistent semantic Brain - pgvector, Voyage 1024-dim embeddings, HNSW + cosine, sub-50ms in steady state, seven typed kinds shared across every specialist.
OpenClaw
Whatever vector store, schema, and reconciliation logic you build into your fork.
02
INTEGRATIONS
Syngulr
50+ integrations live on day one, with 3,000+ more available via Pipedream's universal gateway, plus unlimited custom MCP servers.
OpenClaw
Whatever you wire by hand. Each tool is a function you write, test, and maintain.
03
ACTIONS
Syngulr
Inline action cards on every side-effecting action - full draft, full cron, full audience. Approval before firing. Allow or deny in-thread.
OpenClaw
Approval semantics are whatever you script into your loop.
04
PRICING
Syngulr
Founding price - locked forever. Unlimited human teammates. Unlimited AI employees.
OpenClaw
Repo is free to clone. Real cost is compute, model API spend, and the engineering time to keep it running.
05
DELIVERABLES
Syngulr
Real emails, polished blog posts, hero images and reels, NDA red-lines, monthly-recurring revenue reports, ad campaigns, content calendars - drafted in chat, shipped on your approval.
OpenClaw
Whatever your custom loop and prompts produce. Polishing the output is on you.
06
SETUP
Syngulr
Sign up free, get your dedicated engine provisioned, connect your stack, delegate in plain English. Provisioning takes days, not seconds and zero installs after.
OpenClaw
Clone the repo, install dependencies, configure models, wire integrations, host it, monitor it.
07
TEAM
Syngulr
Multi-human is built in. Unlimited teammates on the board, all sharing the same Brain, the same agents, the same routines.
OpenClaw
Single-operator by default. Sharing requires standing up auth, multi-tenant scoping, and a UI.
08
SECURITY
Syngulr
Server-side credential isolation - tokens encrypted at rest, decrypted only inside execute, never returned to the model. Indexed audit log on every org mutation. Patching is on Syngulr.
OpenClaw
Credential handling is whatever you wire typically env or your OS keychain. Audit trail is whatever you log. Patching is on your team if you self-host.
How Syngulr ships work
Four steps that don't show up in a
clone-and-config.
The pieces that make a self-hosted loop production-ready - Syngulr's already shipped them.
Your own dedicated engine.
An isolated Docker container with embedded Postgres on a managed VPS. Your Brain lives in your own Postgres, not in a shared platform database. Sequential rollouts, sha256-frozen migrations with CI gating, container-restart recovery built into the workflow runner.
Credentials in the safe.
OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest in your engine's Postgres; decrypted only inside the tool's execute function. The model never sees raw OAuth tokens. Tool results carry response data, not credentials - even an expired connection comes back as a sentence the user can read.
A team, not a single loop.
Atlas plus eight named specialists. Atlas can shift work mid-turn so one chat can produce four persona-tagged sections in sequence - Mira plans it, Sage writes it, Nina prices it, Uma generates the hero. Unlimited human teammates share the same Brain, agents, and routines.
Approval cards, not "are you sure?" modals.
Every side-effecting action surfaces an inline card showing the full draft - full email body, full social post, full cron expression. Allow or Deny is synchronous and visible in-thread. The card IS the gate.
The honest split
Choose the product that fits the job.
Choose Syngulr if
- You want an AI co-founder that just works - no installs, no commands, no servers.
- You want one Brain that remembers your business across every conversation.
- You want approval before any side-effecting action.
- You want unlimited human teammates.
Choose OpenClaw if
- You're a technical operator who genuinely enjoys self-hosting.
- Full local-control of code, models, and data is the requirement.
- You want raw model flexibility - swap and benchmark providers freely.
- Owning the runtime end-to-end is a feature, not a cost, for your team.
